Evening Service at St P's & G's in Edinburgh

Yesterday we made it to Church for the 1st time since Easter. We are currently exploring and reviewing our Church ties at the moment, which is great!

We went to St Paul's and St Georges in Edinburgh (it's currently at Pollock Halls as they are refurbishing the church at the moment)

It was a bit strange being at such a large evening service, having grown up in the church and seem numbers decline over those years to be at a service with will over 200 people, It was even stranger being older than most of the other attendees! The Service in it's self was good, Good bible based teaching and some great songs (very good praise band to boot). However the service didn't really progress (or to quote Marianne it had "No Direction") as there was no building up or letting down, which made it difficult to get a proper emotional response to both the service and to the challenges of being a modern Christian in a very secular world. So over all we will go again, but was it a new "home"? No, definitely one to go to if you (and we are now and again) are at a loose end on a Sunday night and want to hear the word being exposited and have a great sing with more Christians than you will ever see short of Spring Harvest, Green Belt or Keswick!
